This was a great post! It took me awhile to call myself a writer. But I'm not all the way there yet. I have changed all my social media profiles and my liked in to writer, I've dropped the aspiring. But in in person conversations with non-writing folks, I don't say that I'm a writer. Even though I have a picture book coming out next year! It still doesn't feel appropriate to say, and awkward, and how do I bring that up? Especially since writing isn't my day job. But I look at it as baby steps. I'm halfway to calling myself a writer in all facets of my life! And I believe I'll get there one day.
